Edmonton · Metcalfe County, Kentucky

Providing a soft place to land for every animal in Metcalfe County.

The Metcalfe County Animal Shelter helps shelter, heal, and find loving homes for strays and surrendered animals in and around Edmonton, Kentucky.

Compassionate shelter. Second chances. A more caring county.

Our mission at MCAS is to provide loving, safe, and permanent homes for homeless animals in our community. We are committed to providing shelter, medical care, and love to animals in need until they are adopted into loving and responsible homes.

A shelter run by neighbors, for neighbors.

Metcalfe County Animal Shelter exists because animals in our community need somewhere to go when they’re lost, abandoned, injured, or simply have no one else to care for them. We provide safe shelter, daily care, and medical attention while working to reunite lost pets with their families and find loving homes for animals who need a fresh start.

Our shelter was built on years of care and commitment from Doc and Donna, along with volunteers and community members who continue to show up for Metcalfe County’s animals. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we’re also working toward a future with fewer animals in crisis by expanding education, spay and neuter resources, responsible pet ownership efforts, and other support for people and pets throughout the county.

The Metcalfe County Animal Shelter Board
